Awaken your palate with this light and fruity roast, and feel your connection to the independent farming families of the Nahualá Co-op with every sip.
Origin: Atitlán, Guatemala
Co-op / Association: Nahualá Co-op
Altitude: 4900 ft (1500 m)
The Nahualá Co-op beans are grown in the volcanic highlands surrounding Lake Atitlán. The mineral-rich soil, abundant rainfall, and protective xocomil winds form a unique climate ideally suited to grow dense, flavorful beans.
Bright & honeyed, with sparkling white grape & sweet peach notes.
Lake Atitlán is essentially defined by the volcanoes bracing its southern shore. The rich soil and above average rainfall nurtures young plants, while the extreme altitude and protective canopy allow for slow maturation of coffee cherries.
Nahualá Co-op farmers pride themselves on growing full-bodied, aromatic beans that also express the bright citrus for which gourmet Guatemalan coffee is known. Lago Azul perfectly captures the distinct flavor of this region.
The hints of citrus in Lago Azul are a perfect match for stonefruits and berries, a freshly baked roll with melting butter, or a savory gazpacho.
